Final

Emporia State lost its third straight on Saturday at Washburn, 14-6.

ESU falls to 3-4 overall and 1-4 in the MIAA. For full coverage, check Monday's Gazette.

8:18 left in the fourth quarter

ESU's Danny McEvoy caught a 42-yard pass from Andre Sloan El to pull the Hornets to within a score of the Ichabods, 14-6.

The snap on extra point was fumbled and ESU needs a touchdown and a two-point conversion to tie the game. McEvoy's catch capped a 11-play, 96-yard drive.

14:19 left in the fourth quarter

Washburn's Terrence Lowe ran in four yards for the game's first touchdown and the Ichabods converted the two-point conversion to take a 14-0 lead.

The Ichabods went 60 yards in 11 plays on the scoring drive.

2:17 left in the second quarter

A pair of Garrett Cummings field goals have the Ichabods leading 6-0.

Cummings kicked a 34-yard field goal set up by Xavier Smith dropping a punt at the ESU 25.

1:40 left in first quarter

Washburn's Garrett Cummings kicked a 23-yard field goal to give Washburn a 3-0 lead over Emporia State in Topeka.

Washburn has been in the red zone twice but only has come away with three points. A bad snap by Matt Coursen to punter Johnny Torres allowed Washburn to block a punt and have the ball at the ESU 8, but Washburn gave the ball back to ESU on the following play when Tyler Mikkelson forced a fumble and Derek Lohman recovered.
