Voters are asked to bring themselves and their questions to a candidate forum scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in the conference room at the Flint Hills Technical College.
The forum is sponsored by the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Emporia.
According to information from Diana Solis, League president, forums are planned only for offices that have candidates opposing each other.
The schedule will be:
• 6 p.m. — Lyon County Clerk candidates
• 6:30 p.m. — Lyon County Commissioner, Districts 2 and 3
• 7:30 p.m. — State Senate, 17th District
• 8 p.m. — Kansas House of Representatives, 76th District
The forums will be recorded for broadcast later on Emporia’s CableOne.

Is anyone going to go and ask Teresa Walters if she is for a county-wide smoking ban? Or what her opponents views on this issue are? Is Jim Barnett going to be there, or a no-show?
