The Emporia High girls golf team finished sixth at the Centennial League championships on Tuesday at Western Hills in Topeka.
No Spartans finished in the top 10 at the event. Hayden won the meet with a team score of 327, followed by Manhattan with 337. Emporia finished with 433 points, 16 behind fifth-place finisher Seaman.
“Beautiful day on a nice course, but we just struggled to get anything good to happen for us,” coach Rick Eckert said.
Hannah Watkins led the Hornets with a 17th place finish, shooting a 99. Maryann Bennett finished one stroke behind Bennett in 18th.
Hayden freshman Brooke LaRue shot a 73, 3 over par, to win the individual championship, and teammate Lauren Falley finished second with a 77.
