The Flint Hills Community Health Center’s income was above the budgeted amount for October, however the accountants receivable has increased for the month due to lack of payment from Medicare and Medicaid.
The Flint Hills Community Health Center Board of Directors met Tuesday afternoon to discuss the financial report and several other items during their regular monthly meeting.
The financial report stated that October operations resulted in a net income of $126,322.56, which is $18,857.69 more than the budgeted amount of $107,464.87.
Accounts receivable has increased due to lack of payment from Medicare and Medicaid.
“We have been receiving payments from Medicare and are working on getting Medicare A/R current,” according to the center’s written financial report. “Sage (Health Pro) corrected the Medicaid billing problem at the end of October and we are working on getting Medicaid claims resubmitted and current.”
Medical encounters increased during the month of October. The center had 1,632 in October, which is up from 1,535 in September. Dental patient encounters went up from 579 in September to 586 in October. The center had budgeted 650 dental encounters for October.
