You know what is really sad is that if I law enforment was doing the job right and paying attention to there records they would find out that this weeks most wanted is already in custody at the prision in Topeka. So how can she be a fugitive when she is already in custody.

Real simple, the prison system is supposed to check for warrants to notify agencies when a person is confined. They don't always do it. Most folks in trouble have multiple warrants in often many states. Unless the prison folks check and notify people, local folks don't have any way of knowing where people are. Besides, the charges and warrants stay active until the person is released so they can go right back in jail and start over again.

she was in the lyon county jail for a couple of months, before being transferred to topeka. So how does lyon county not know about her warrants or were she's at, its there job? How would you feel if you was paying your debt to socity and there putting your face in the paper saying your wanted. Whoever does lyon countys most wanted should make sure the people are wanted before putting there face n the paper . If this is how we run our city I'm sacred. What about the people who are relly on the run guess they don't have to worry. This is not the first time the paper has done this.

nothing_but_angels and worm, the article said
"If you have information as to the location of the above listed person please call Crime Stoppers at 342-2273 or 1-800 KS Crime (1-800-572-7463)"

I assume you mean "their" mistake? It is routine for fail to appears in court to have warrants issued for people already incarcerated. If the jail failed to notify the process servers then they should review their process and double check before they release information to the paper In checking the corrections website, this person was returned for a probation violation. If the hearing was held and the person transported as a result of a court order for a violation of a probation order, it would be possible for the paperwork to not find it's way back to the sheriff's office unless the prison system closed the loop. Seems like if that is the worse that happens, it's something I can sure live with, especially given the fact the city and county continue to cut the amount of staffing and dollars spent on public safety. Eventually something is going to give. I'd rather it be a clerical error than someone dead on the street.

Worm, I'm guessing based on your last comment that face in the paper is a relative of yours?

Has it occurred to you: that face wouldn't be in our small town's paper if the owner of that face hadn't broken the law? Several times if the information in the article is correct.

Just a thought....

No its not. She is in prison right now that's what she gets for breaking the law not haveing her picture posted wrongly n the paper for everyone to see. If she was on the run then fine put who face all over if she was on the run but she's doing her time has been from what kasper shows. In the info in the paper is not correct she is not on the run so kinda makes me wonder what is not correct in the article.

Have you never broken the law Mister O? And if your honest, can we put your picture in the paper next to a list of your mistakes? No - don't know her or related.

MisterO (anonymous) says...

redscorpion: If I broke the law, you sure can put my picture in the paper. If the police were searching for me for a violation of the law, yes - you can put my picture in the paper.

Is that a problem for you?

If I don't want my picture posted for violating the law, I have a very simple solution: Don't break the law.

The question was "have you never broken the law?". Your not answering the question was the answer to my question. No problem, just amused and entertained at those that cast stones.

There is a big difference between breaking the law and commiting a felony. I would guess that everyone has broken a law at one point or another, but I would also guess that only a small part of the population has committed a felony. So if I ever committed a felony you can put my picture in the paper. But let me tell you that will never happen.
