ON TUESDAY, the newspaper published an obituary for Leonard Crowl. For the Gazette staff, this was more than an obituary — it was a farewell to our friend and coworker.
At the age of 58, Leonard died before his time.
Leonard started working at the paper 10 years ago, doing one of the most important jobs — a representative in the advertising department. He cared about his customers and his customers cared about him.
In the hectic environment of the newspaper office, Leonard was always calm and easygoing. He would have a smile on his face and jokes for the staff. Leonard enjoyed life and didn’t let life’s little troubles get him down.
Leonard was husband to Deb Crowl and father to three children: Andrew, Amelia and Hannah. Around the office, Leonard would often share his family stories as well as his opinions about ESU sports.
Leonard touched many people’s lives in our community and he will be missed by his family, his friends and our Gazette staff.
