Arther Sieminski of Emporia was found not guilty of all charges on Friday, after a week-long trial in Lyon County District Court.
According to court records, Sieminski was arrested on April 22 and charged with two counts of rape or sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 years of age, two counts of aggravated sodomy with a minor under 14, and one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a minor under 14.
A jury found Sieminski not guilty on all counts.

equalrights, ever hear the saying "innocent until proven guilty"
were you at the trial? do you know something the jurors didnt know? I would assume that if it went to court and the man was found not guilty by a group of his peers then there must not have been enough evidence to convict him for the crimes in question.

In a news paper report it can sound so cut and dry that there was a rape of a 14 year old. In the court system, the truth comes out and both sides get to tell what happened. This is what makes this country great. A group of people heard both sides and found him not guilty, not a hung jury nor was there alot of time that the jury sat deciding this. No they dont have to live with imprisoning an innocent man for not doing the crime he was on trial for. I hope the acused and his family can find some peace now before the holidays.

Just because some is found not guilty does not mean they are innocent. They just couldn't convict beyond a reasonable doubt. Another set of 12 people could have very easily gone the other way. I doubt the victim and her family will be finding any peace this holiday season.

A sweet innocent little girl had the most horrifying thing happen to her then has to sit there and testify in detail in front of strangers and the accused, not once but twice, but gets through it with the hope that this wont happen to her or another child again. I hope "LifeGoesOn" never experiences a loved one being so terrified and hurt. Well you go on with your life because you can, just don't assume so much please.

Lidia , I was not at the trial I only know what I may read in the article, and it said "A Jury found Sieminski Not Guilty on all counts"
Now although this may not make this man innocent, it does mean that 12 people who didnt know either the man or the girl believed him to not have done the things in question to this young girl. As for my experiences, please do not ASSUME you know me or what my family has had to experience.
Now maybe because you seem to know "the facts" of what this young girl went through, you should have gave that information to the lawyer, the verdict may have been different ya think?

You are so right! But also rememeber, innocent people are found guilty as well.
We may not like that the jurory found him innocent, but they did. He will have to face his maker one day. His maker knows the truth.
A family member was raped a few years ago. It went to trial, he was found innocent. Do I believe this family member was raped? Yes, I do.
I think things could have been presented better by the county prosecutor, but there is nothing we can do about it now. Life does go on.
We had to adjust and accept the outcome.

I assure you, with the right counseling, this young girl can get on with her life. My daughter was the one I spoke of before. She was still in high school when it happened to her. She is doing great. She went to counseling and worked through it. She went in with the attitude that she wasn't going to let this run her life, and it hasn't. Time and counseling can heal most things.
My daughter is in college and full of life! She has healed, and continues to not let what happened to her control what she does or who she is.

I think that the nature of the alleged crime has a lot to do with way people feel about this verdict. If he had been found not guilty of theft or vandalism, I don't think there would be this quick rush to condemn him as guilty anyway. When you deal with such an awful and loathsome crime as the rape and sodomy of a young girl, it is easy to say that it must have happened the way she says because of the emotions and empathies involved in the process. However, in America we have the greatest judicial system in the world, we are one of the only countries that believes in innocent until proven guilty and double jeopardy. I am sure something terrible happened to this young lady, but the jurors are certain that Mr. Sieminski is not the guy. In America their decision is in this case is the bottom line, and that should be good enough for all of us.

The parents of this young lady needs to get her into counseling and get her all the help she may need to work through this. I was raped at the age of 12 and had no father around to help me and my mom was a drunk that lived at the bars and no brothers or sisters , my grandparents lived miles away. I helped myself by becoming a hopeless drug addict for 17 years of my life. I have been clean for 21 years now but children can take horrible turns in life without love from their family and support. God Bless them through this long journey.

I do not know the supposed victim or the accused in this trial, but I do trust a jury's decision that was neutral to both parties. My own daughter was involved in a similar case a few years back, and a jury convicted him of over 50 charges. If the guy got off then he was innocent. Jury's do not like child molester's, and if they would have had any reason what-so-ever to convict him on then they would have. Mr. Sieminski you have my sympathy for being victimized by this minor and her family.

In rape and especially molestation cases, it is difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a defendant is guilty. Many times there is little or no physical evidence available because these predators are careful to cover their tracks. When there is little or no evidence at all, it does not mean the crime/s didn't happen, it just means there is nothing left behind to prove it happened. And that, unfortunately, is what happened in this case. I don't see any reason a little girl of only 12 years old would make up such a story and then repeat it in court twice and also in front of the police and other officials who would have been very strange to her. Also, just a fact for your thoughts, the mother did not bring this to court, the district attorney took it upon themselves to prosecute Mr. Sieminskie. Anyway, Not Guilty DOES NOT equal INNOCENT!!

I don't know what country you are from, but in this country Not Guily DOES equal INNOCENT. As for this "little 12 year old girl" I think you are the one who needs to "get real". 12 to 15 year old girls are about the most manipulating group of people there are. My question would be......Did this girl have a personal relationship with this guy? Or, what could have been her motive for these accusations? And, did she repeat the EXACT same story over and over? Apparently her story was not believeable or he would have been convicted. Care to respond to those questions?

My only response to your questions is a question of my own. Would you leave your child alone with this guy?
