Commission cuts

COMMISSIONER Bob Davis is acting like the usual politician by using threat tactics to get the tax monies he wants to spend. Do you notice that he threatens mostly health agencies like Flint Hills Community Health Center, the Mental Health Center, even the Newman Hospital? And of course you wouldn’t be able to drive on county roads unless you vote his wants.
I can think of one way we could save a significant amount of money for the county — get rid of two county commissioners. All the voters need to do is to vote “none of the above” when they are considering whether they should vote for any incumbents. And next year, the voters might be able to get rid of two more! Think of the savings.
Remember, those county commissioners are not there to maintain their little pet projects in the community, they are there to take care of county business the way the voters wish. And the voters will have the opportunity to express their wishes on Aug. 5.
Something the commissioners might also tell us — how much will the tax base of the county change when the new power station east of Burlingame Road goes on line? Remember, they’re going to be paying for a fair share of the services of the county.
