An assortment of items classified as “teaching and learning” related are on the agenda for the board of education meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Mary Herbert Education Center.
The board will consider approving a Kansas history textbook and a summer program for migrant and English language learners in Grades 1 through 6. The board also will be asked to approve student handbooks for Emporia High School and Emporia Middle School for the coming school year.
The consent agenda includes an appropriation request from the City of Emporia Special Alcohol Fund and a request for an increase in billing rates for trips.
The board has scheduled a budget workshop, open to the public, at 6 p.m. Aug. 6. A hearing on the budget will be held the same day at 7 p.m. at Mary Herbert.
