Emporia Schools
The Emporia schools are closed for the summer. Here is the menu for the free summer food program:
BREAKFAST
Monday: No meals served.
Tuesday: No meals served.
Wednesday: cereal, juice and milk.
Thursday: muffin, juice and milk.
Friday: simply chex, juice and milk.
LUNCH
Monday: No meals served.
Tuesday: No meals served.
Wednesday: hot dog on a bun, seasoned fries, broccoli florets, mandarin oranges, milk.
Thursday: bosco sticks, baby carrots and dip, melon wedge, graham cookie, milk.
Friday: burrito, nacho chips, tossed salad, strawberries, milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave.
Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home delivery, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: Closed for Memorial Day.
Tuesday: Swiss steak, au gratin potatoes, mixed vegetables, wheat bread, pineapple chunks.
Wednesday: stuffed potato with chicken and cheese sauce, green beans, rye bread, peanut butter pie.
Thursday: chili, coleslaw, crackers, cinnamon roll.
Friday: Mr. Rib, bun, baked beans, potato salad, fruit cup.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
These meals will be served next week.
Monday: Closed for Memorial Day.
Tuesday: meatloaf, boiled potatoes, green beans, bread, fruit.
Wednesday: chicken salad bowl, wheat roll, fruit salad.
Thursday: sloppy joe on a bun, potato wedges, pickled beets, strawberries with topping.
Friday: roast pork, bread dressing, Italian blend vegetables, bread, melon cup.
