WICHITA -- Northern Heights senior Jacquelyne Leffler came away with her fourth straight Class 3A shot put title at the State track and field meet on Saturday.
Down to her final throw and sitting in second place, Leffler came through with a heave of 44 feet, 7 1/2 inches to edge past Norton's Hayli Bozarth, who finished second with a throw of 44-1 3/4.
Coupled with her discus title on Friday, Leffler becomes just the second girl in Kansas state history to win four straight titles in the shot put and the discus.
For a complete area wrap-up, please see Tuesday's Emporia Gazette, as the Gazette will not publish a paper on Monday because of Memorial Day.
