The Emporia High track and field squad heads to Wichita for the State meet on Friday and Saturday with title hopes on the line, not just individually, but as a team as well.
EHS will have several athletes aiming for State titles, and should things fall into place, both the girls and boys squads will have a shot at the team titles. In all, Emporia qualified 24 athletes in 26 events, with several more athletes also making the trip as alternates.
On the boys side, the Spartans are counting on a lot of points from their two heavy hitters — Jacob Davies and Brandon Childs.
