Bus tour
The phone number to call for a Historical Bus Tour of North Lyon County was published incorrectly in Monday’s Gazette. To reserve a spot on the bus, call Jan Huston at (620) 443-5214.
The 24 sites on the tour include an unknown Indian’s gravesite, the Black cemetery in Dunlap and the site of the murder of Judge A.I. Baker by “Bloody Bill” Anderson. Anderson, who rode with Quantrill’s Raiders for a time, allegedly trapped Baker in a basement below the judge’s store and burned the building on July 3, 1862.
