The Emporia State softball team was honored for having the highest grade-point average of the eight softball teams that competed in last week’s College World Series.
The Hornets, who have a combined team GPA of 3.39, were awarded a plaque and also were given distinction in front of all the teams at the Division II NCAA Championship’s closing ceremonies on Saturday.
Three members of ESU’s softball team earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors earlier this season.
