Bus tour
A Historical Bus Tour of North Lyon County and part of Morris County will take place Friday, May 23, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The tour will meet at the Americus City Park and will be led by guides Don Schiesser and Jan Huston. Lunch will be served at the Allen Senior Center.
The first stop will be Grimsley-Van Gundy Lane where the William Grimsley homestead will be viewed. There will be 24 sites visited and the tour will end at the Ruggles Bridge. For reservations and information, Jan Huston (620) 443-5124.
Chamber news
The Americus Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a hospitality room at the United Presbyterian Church Annex for the Americus Alumni Association members from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Light refreshments will be served and the Sesquicentennial book will be available for purchasing and viewing.
Americus Chamber of Commerce members, Sunflower 4-H Club members, and other interested community members will place flowers at each grave in the Americus Cemetery at 7 p.m. Wednesday. All assistance with this project will be greatly appreciated.
