Forty-eight Emporia High School seniors will graduate with honors this weekend. They were recognized at the Academic Awards Assembly last week at the high school.
To be included in the Seniors Honors Group, students must have a 3.75 or higher cumulative GPA for their four years in high school.
Three of the honors students — Samantha Kraft, Matt McAnarney and Michaela Reynolds — were honored on May 4 as Kansas Governor’s Scholars. This program honors the top 1 percent of graduating seniors in each Kansas High School. As an additional honor, ESB Financial, in conjunction with the Kansas Bankers Association, presented each of the students with a $100 savings bond.

College scholarships
Emporia High School seniors have accepted approximately $414,000 in college scholarships, according to information reported by students to the EHS Counseling Office this month. Scholarship recipients were recognized during the Senior Awards Assembly last week at EHS.
