At last Friday’s Centennial League swimming and diving meet, Emporia High sophomore Aubrey Armitage wasn’t quite ready for her season to be finished.
So she managed to do the one thing that would prolong her season by one week — she qualified for the State meet.
It took until the last meet of the regular season, but Armitage finally earned a high enough score in the diving competition to automatically qualify for State — a good thing considering Armitage had come so close so many times this season.
