Emporia teacher moves to Americus administration

Saturday, May 10, 2008

AMERICUS — Americus Elementary School will have a new principal next year.

Aron Dody, who lives north of Emporia in the North Lyon County district, was hired to be the Americus principal, said Superintendent Steve Mollach.

Dody graduated from Chase County High School in 1994 and received his bachelor in science in education from Emporia State University in 1999 with teacher certifications in mathematics, physics, physical science and computer studies. He went on to receive his master of science in educational administration in May 2003 and has taught mathematics at Emporia High School since January 2000.

Dody is married to Blythe Dody, who works at Emporia State University. They have a 1-year-old son, Landon.

He replaces Vickie Schweinler, who is just finishing her fourth year as principal of the K-8 building. Schweinler resigned to take a position at an elementary school in Ottawa.

congratulations Mr. Dody! I know you will do well but the high school will be losing a wonderful Geometry teacher! Good luck!

Aron Doty is one of the very best teachers that I have ever known. Based upon the leadership skills that he showed in the classroom, my bet is that he will be an excellent administrator. Congratulations, Mr. Doty.
