Three Emporia State softball players and one Hornet baseball player were named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District on Thursday.
Miranda Campbell, April Huddleston and Samantha Sheeley were all named to the second team, while Brian Majors was named to the first team.
Campbell, a first-team All-MIAA selection at third base, compiled a 3.59 grade-point average in Health Promotions; Sheeley, the MIAA pitcher of the year, posted a 3.34 GPA in Rehabilitation Services; and Huddleston, also a first-team All-MIAA pick, earned a 3.97 GPA in Physical Education.
Majors, meanwhile, put together a 3.78 GPA in Physics.
4 softball players earn NFCA All-Region honors
The Emporia State softball team had four players earn spots on the NFCA All-Region team released Thursday.
Pitcher Samantha Sheeley and first baseman Jennifer Dace were named to the first team, while third baseman Miranda Campbell and shortstop April Huddleston took second-team distinction.
