About 100 people “Zumba-ed” for two hours to raise money to help Keri Wilkie, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, according to information from Amy Hayden, Zumba instructor and one of the event’s organizers.
The fundraiser, which raised more than $8,000, was held Saturday at the new Emporia Fitness Center. Wilkie, 26, is a physical therapist at Emporia Physical Therapy.
Wilkie has begun post-surgery treatments for the cancer. Donations continue to be accepted, and checks can be made payable to the “Keri Wilkie Breast Cancer Medical Fund.”
