James M. Mumford, 60, of Great Bend was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash in Chase County. The accident happened about 10 p.m. at Milepost 322 on U.S. Highway 50, about 2 1/2 miles northeast of K150.
Mumford was driving a 2002 Ford pickup truck when he attempted to make a U-turn in front of a 2001 Mack tanker truck driven by Kevin B. Marsh, 45, of Council Grove. Marsh was wearing a safety restraint and was not injured.
Perry Vincent Schaffer, 44, of Larned, was noted on the Kansas Highway Patrol report as having a possible injury but refused treatment at the scene of the accident.
Neither Schaffer nor Mumford was wearing a safety restraint.
