The Emporia State track and field teams both came away with third-place finishes over the weekend at the MIAA Championships in Maryville, Mo.
The women ended with 149 points, behind both Missouri Southern (193) and Central Missouri (152.5). The men, meanwhile, posted 119 points, as Central Missouri took first (174.5) and Pittsburg State was second (135.5).
“We like to be the in upper division of the conference, and both teams got back there,” ESU coach Dave Harris said. “On the women’s side, Southern and Central are really good. They’re the powerhouses now, and we hung with them for a while.”
