The National Association of Letter Carriers will be holding its annual food drive on Saturday. Food collected will be given to the Salvation Army Food Pantry, which is running severely low on food supplies.
Emporia letter carriers will pick up non-perishable food items left at mail boxes on May 10. With the help of volunteers from the Emporia High School Enrichment Services Program and the Boy Scouts, the food will be taken to the food pantry.
The food drive is a nationwide event for letter carriers.
