Madison
The dates for Madison Days are set. The Madison News reported Thursday that the 2008 Madison Days will be June 13, 14 and 15. Madison Days buttons can be purchased starting May 25 at the Main Street Mini Mall and Glazier’s Market, both in Madison. Madison Days T-shirts are available at the Mini Mall now.
Hartford
The Coffey County Republican reported that the Southern Lyon County USD 252 students in grades 7 to 12 who need additional help with academics can find it before and after school. The board approved a pilot tutoring program when it met on April 14.
Eureka
The Eureka Herald reported that a new barn at Eureka Downs is ready for use, replacing a barn destroyed by fire in 2006. The new barn has 26 stalls and two tack rooms.
The track has decreased the number of racing days from 11 to six this year. There will be live horse races every Saturday beginning May 31 throughout June and Friday, July 4. The decrease in days is primarily due to reduction in funds available through the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission Grant.
