Emporia High senior Brandon Heavener didn’t want to end his high school tennis career without a defining moment.
Well, he got it Thursday night, and he’ll get another one of those moments a week from now.
Heavener and doubles partner Jonathan Roman qualified for the State tournament with a third-place finish at Thursday’s Regional tennis meet at the Kossover Tennis Complex in Topeka, giving Heavener his first State appearance in his final year at EHS.
“It’s really important to me,” Heavener said. “I wanted something to remember my high school career by, and this is it. This is really special.”
