When Betsy Martling was in high school, she helped the volleyball team at Maize High School reach the State tournament all four years of her career.
Contrast that with the Emporia High volleyball team, which went to its first State tournament since 1997 this past season.
It’s now Martling’s task to bring a little bit of that legacy she helped build at Maize to the Emporia High volleyball team, as Martling has been named the new head volleyball coach at EHS, replacing Kendra Bloomquist, who stepped down in December.
