An article posted Sunday in Chicago Business speculates that Interstate Bakeries could be a good acquisition for Sara Lee. The article by David Sterrett says that Sara Lee’s chief executive officer is looking for acquisition possibilities. Interstate Bakeries owns Emporia’s Dolly Madison plant.
Acquiring Interstate Bakeries, maker of Wonder bread, Hostess cupcakes and Twinkies, would help Sara Lee distribute its products nationwide. Currently, Sara Lee has 9.5 percent of the U.S. bread market. Interstate has 9.1 percent.

This is good news for Dolly. Lets keep our fingers and toes crossed for our citizens who work there. And if Sara Lee can also acquire Oscar Meyer -- sandwiches!!!
