Dance classes at Emporia State University traditionally end each semester with a production that lets the students display the steps and moves they’ve learned. This year’s Spring Dance Production is taking on a different twist, though.
The students will be helping award-winning recording artist Jon Troast premiere his song, “Mary Jane: An Indie Rock Romance” in performances set for 7 and 9 p.m. May 9 in the Frederickson Theatre on the ESU campus.
“What that means is we’re looking for a few more people to be part of the fun,” said Jim Bartruff, director of theatre. “We’re looking for three or four men and women to join Jon Troast and students in our Dance I and III classes to help with the premiere.”
Auditions will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Friesen Studio in Roosevelt Hall. Auditioners must be available from April 7 to May 9.
