Emporia kids wrestling club has 18 members qualify for State

The Emporia Kids Wrestling Club had 18 wrestlers finish in the top four of their respective weight classes in Saturday’s District Tournament in McPherson.
All 18 of those wrestlers will advance to this weekend’s State competition in Topeka.
Those who qualified for State were: Gabe Buckbee (8 years old, 49 pounds), Daniel Herrera (8, 52), Garrett Whitson (10,70), Blake Whitson (10, 79), Max Detwiler (12, 76), Braxton Marstall (12, 96), Kolby Washburn (12, 190), Bryce Dakin (14, 90), Drew Detwiler (14, 95), Tanner Page (14, 110), Chase Sanchez (14, 130), Miguel Ayala (14, 135), Nicolas Dikin (14, 205), Jared Dakin (16, 120), Justin Rose (16, 130), Sal Tovar (16, 135), Zeb Peak (16, 145) and Logan Gaskill (16, 155).
The State competition begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and continues on Sunday at 8 a.m. at the Expocentre in Topeka.
