Emporia Main Street will follow up its public forum on downtown development by displaying its draft plans from the meeting in the Lyon County Courthouse foyer area, Main Street Director Kayla Oney said Thursday.
The draft plans will be on display during business hours from Monday until next Friday, March 28. Oney said citizens are invited to provide comments and suggestions upon viewing the plans. She said Main Street decided to display the draft plans at the courthouse instead of having another public forum for the sake of convenience.
“Because people’s schedules are so busy that this way, it’s in one location,” she said.
Main Street held its public session on March 10, when representatives from Anderson Macadam Architects presented initial development plans for downtown.

This project is really interesting - kind of a Vision Statement for downtown.
I sincerely hope that everyone interested in the development of downtown gets down to the courthouse this week to see what people have been working on and add their own comments and ideas.
We have a really neat little city here, and by developing a coordinated plan, we can move forward into the future in a coherent way. It's a good thing for all of us.
And if you don't go down and add your own input, then you don't get to whine about how everyone's doing everything wrong!
Well... you can whine if you want, but no-one has to pay it any attention! :)
