Emporian arrested for driving truck into house in Joplin

An Emporia man faces multiple charges in Joplin, Mo., after he allegedly ran into a home with his pick-up, entered the home and assaulted a 50-year-old man who lived there.
Rex Hendershott, 47, was arrested early Friday by the Joplin Police Department after he allegedly drove his truck into a porch in the 200 block of South Comingo Avenue in Joplin and then entered the home. According to an incident report by the Joplin Police Department, the home’s occupant reported that he was awakened around 4:30 a.m. Friday by the sounds of the truck hitting his porch. Hendershott allegedly entered the home and began punching the home’s occupant.
Hendershott is being charged with first-degree burglary, misdemeanor assault, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI.

Not to make light out of a very serious situation and horrible crime (luckily no one was killed by this driver), but seriously - was Mr. Hendershott upset that this guy's house got in his way while he was out driving - hence entering the house to beat up on him? Here's your sign.
