Earns master’s degree

A former Emporian, the Rev. Steven E. Baxter, has earned a master of metaphysical science degree from the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Ariz. To obtain the degree, he completed coursework and a thesis paper, “Roots of the Gospel: Metaphysical Teachings of Jesus in Mark and Saying Gospel.”
Baxter, who was ordained in April 2007 by the International Metaphysical Ministry in Sedona, attended Emporia public schools for seven years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated studies from Emporia State University. He now lives in Live Oak, Fla., where he owns the Suwannee Canoe Outpost, a canoe and kayak rental and shuttle service.
He is a member of the Beaches Holistic Alliance, an association of alternative health practioners in Jacksonville, Beach, Fla.
