Emporia High School video broadcasting students brought home several awards from the En Fuego Film Festival earlier this month, according to EHS teacher Corey Wiltz. The film festival is a regional celebration of films created by students from grades K-12. It is sponsored by Lawrence Free State High School.
The first place winners who received trophies are: Troy Laflin for "The Locker Room," Best Individual Project; and Jodie Hollern, Derek Rhoades and Taylor Surmeier for "A Dogs Tale," in Best Documentary and Best in Show.
Other awards students received were: “Around EHS in 60 Seconds,” second, and “E-Vision Sports,” third in the Broadcast Category; “The Line Up,” second in the Class Project Category; and “Survivor Dude,” third in the Mockumentary Category.
