Friday Thoughts is a light-hearted commentary.
THIS WEEK, residents are questioning what chemicals are in Emporia’s water. Emporians became suspicious when the water department would not tell The Associated Press what was in it. The AP found traces of pharmaceutical drugs in water in other towns.
I have to wonder if Emporia’s water is laced with some amnesia medicines.
I suspect this because when I run into people that I haven’t seen in a while many times they ask how the kids are doing and then they inform me how the time will fly by and before I know it the kids will be grown.
Between the diaper changing, children crying and continually cleaning up messes I can safely say that Emporians must have some sort of amnesia because the time actually creeps by.

Save your commentary for 2028, Mr. Walker, then write another one to see if your perspective changes. "Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I don't remember growing older...when did they?"
