The Emporia High girls basketball team had two players named first-team All-Centennial League by the league coaches, the only school to have two players named to the five-player squad.
Seniors Sadie Webb and Nichole Naab each garnered first-team honors after helping the Lady Spartans to an 18-5 record this season, which included a Sub-State championship and a trip to the Class 5A State Tournament.
Webb led EHS in scoring this season with a 12.9 points-per-game average, while Naab joined her in double figures at 11.1 points per game.
Webb and Naab were joined on the first team by Washburn Rural’s LaSharra Riley, Junction City’s Dani Hoover and Hayden’s Lindsay Biggs.
EHS did not have a player named to the second team or honorable mention, but sophomore Lindy Arndt received a spot on the league’s All-Defensive Team.
Riley was named the Centennial League Player of the Year, Topeka High’s Jessica Blake was named the Newcomer of the Year and Washburn Rural’s Bill Annan was named Coach of the Year.
