The Lyon County Appraiser’s Web site for home valuations is open free to the public until the end of the month.
Gary Post, Lyon County Appraiser, said property owners in Lyon County can go to lyoncounty.org and follow the link to appraiser. From there go, to parcel search. Residents can check on their property values and the accuracy of the appraiser’s information about the home. The user name is sales and the password is sales.
Post said the search engine will allow users to check what homes in their price range are selling for. A resident who owns a home valued at $75,000 can ask for all sales on homes in Lyon County at that price in the past couple of years.
“It’s a pretty powerful search engine,” Post said. “It’s a pretty powerful thing to put out there.”
