Lyon County Commission

Lyon County commissioners will meet for a study session at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse. Items up for discussion include:

- 8:15 a.m. — Commissioner, counselor and controller reports.

- 8:30 a.m. — Vernon Buck will discuss declaring March Red Cross Month.

- 9 a.m. — Chip Woods, Lyon County Engineer, will discuss: attending the Kansas Transportation Engineering Conference in Manhattan in April and pay the $142 registration fee; discuss rocking Road 115 from Road M approximately 1,800 feet for a new home; review hydraulic analysis from Wilson & Company of the culvert on Road 180; review road/sign supervisor’s weekly reports and work report; review comparison or 2007 and 2008 expenses.

- 9:45 a.m. — Kevin Hanlin, of Emporia zoning, will review an application, the 2008 draft of the City of Emporia and Metropolitan Planning Area Comprehensive Plan.

- 10 a.m. — Mark McKenna and Chris Wilkinson, of Lyon County Facilities Management, will review a bid regarding carpeting the Lyon County Annex (Old Lyon County Courthouse), elevator and third floor and will discuss carpeting an office in the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.

- 10:15 a.m. — Commissioners will review the agenda for Lyon County Planning/Appeals Board regular meeting on Wednesday.
