Bridal shower
A community bridal shower will be given for Karen DeDonder at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Reading United Methodist Church. Hosts will be the Reading Community Friends.
EHS students show styles
Emporia High School students will present a fashion show Thursday evening at 7:30 at the Flinthills Mall, 15th Avenue and Industrial Road.
The show will be held on-stage in the north-south hallway.
A total of 32 models — four males and four females from each class — will take part in the show, which will feature clothing from mall merchants JCPenney, The Buckle, Maurice’s and Hibbett Sporting Goods.
Admission to the show is free of charge. Students will sell tickets for $4 each that provide 15 to 20 percent discounts on purchases at the stores featured in the fashion show.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be divided between the EHS Scholarship Fund and the sophomore class, to help pay for its sponsorship of next year’s senior prom, according to information from Matthew Irby, EHS science teacher and sophomore class sponsor.
Discount tickets will be sold during lunch hours at EHS on Wednesday and Thursday and also are available at the EHS office.
