Cottonwood Falls
The Chase County Leader-News reported that CT Systems LLC in Cottonwood Falls will be expanding in the coming months, the plant’s general manager confirmed.
The planned expansion will increase the current 16,000 square foot facility by 30,000 square feet. The plant will occupy the plant’s south parking lot. He estimated that construction of the expansion will be completed in nine months to one year.
Beto Junction
The Coffey County Republican reported that the Kansas Department of Transportation has started a project that will rehabilitate the roadway and extend access control on U.S. 75 in Coffey County. The project being south of County Road 2066 (Old Highway 50) and continues north for approximately one mile, ending south of Interstate 35 at Beto Junction. KDOT awarded the $2.9 million construction contract to Venture Corporation of Great Bend.
Burlington
The Coffey County Republican reported that volunteer firefighters now will be reimbursed $20 for each fire call, up from $18. Fire Chief Bill Walker made the request at the Coffey County Fire District No. 1 meeting on Jan. 28.v
