Concert is Sunday

The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band’s concert band lands in Albert Taylor Hall on Sunday.

No tickets remain for the free show, which begins at 7 p.m. Ticket-holders are asked to be seated by 6:30 p.m. Doors will open to the general public at 6:45 p.m., according to organizers.

Symphony sold out

The Kansas City Star reported this morning that all 5,000 tickets for the Kansas City Symphony’s June 14 Symphony in the Flint Hills near Council Grove were sold in less than 3 1/2 hours Monday morning. There is a possibility that another blocks of tickets will be opened up for the concert. To get on the waiting list, call (816) 471-0400.

Basketball radio

With six teams from Lyon County playing in the State Basketball Tournaments, it’s going to be difficult keeping up. Coverage by local radio stations will help.

Emporia High boys and girls games will be broadcast on KVOE-AM 1400.

Olpe High boys and girls games will be broadcast on KVOE-FM 101.7.

Northern Heights boys and girls games will be broadcast on KANS-FM, The Wave, 96.1.
