Brandy Nance's statement that the extension office move cost the taxpayers $750,000 is incorrect. Use the figures quoted in the Feb. 27 Gazette and deduct the proceeds from the sale of the former location. The cost to the taxpayers is $362,393 or less than half of $750,000.
On another subject, I mostly agree with Doug Morrisey’s (Feb. 28 Gazette) views on the coal plant. It’s all about “Big Money.”
I’m sure Colorado is happy to see all the water taken from the Ogala Aquifer for use in this expansion come from Kansas water rights rather than Colorado.
Interestingly, I received a mailer from one of our state reps wanting my opinion on this issue, but it arrived two days after the vote. Imagine that!
It’s all about money and political gain. To hell with the environment.
