Today

The Emporia Chess Society meets from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Granada Coffee Company and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Pyramid Pizza. All ages and skill levels are welcome, including children. There is no charge.

Emporia Masonic Lodge 12 meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 424 Merchant St.

Tuesday

The Edude Club meets at 1:30 p.m. with Char Miller, assisted by Jane Milliken. The program, “Making Chocolate,” will be given by Kim Redeker of the Sweet Granada.

The Rotary Club meets at noon at the Emporia Country Club, 18th Avenue and Rural Street.

The Junto Study Club meets with Gail Milton. Lucie Eusey will present the program.

The Research Club meets with Jan Miley. Carolyn Davidson will present the program.

Single Adult Fellowship group meets at 6 p.m. every Tuesday during March at Bobby D’s, 607 Merchant St. The First Friday Feast will be at 6 p.m. at the Village Inn, 2831 W. 18th Ave. Information: Rufus Hobbs, 392-5780.

Friday

The Emporia Area Retired School Personnel meets at 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion, 2921 W. 12th Ave. The program, “Literacy Counts,” will be given by Valerie Zimmerman, literacy coordinator at the Adult Education Center.

P.E.O. Chapter GT meets at 1:30 p.m. at the Emporia Public Library. Merle Peterson will present the program, “Cures and Quacks.” There will be election and installation of officers and election of delegates to the Kansas State convention.

Saturday

The Emporia Airport Action Group meets at approximately 9:30 a.m. every Saturday in the main terminal at the Emporia Municipal Airport for “hangar talk,” coffee and doughnuts. “You are free to move about” the airport.
