ESU’s Honeycutt to participate in Junior Championships
Emporia State freshman Josh Honeycutt will compete this weekend at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Chamionships in Columbus, Ohio.
Honeycutt is scheduled to compete in the triple jump on Saturday at Jesse Owens Stadium on The Ohio State University campus.
Honeycutt was the MIAA champion in both the indoor and outdoor triple jump. He was the MIAA’s Freshman of the Year in outdoor track and field and set a school outdoor record with a triple jump of 50 feet, 7 1/2 inches on April 13.
Emporia Blues win 1st game at Bartlesville
The Emporia A-16 Blue squad won its first game of the Bartlesville (Okla.) Tournament, taking a 13-5 victory over Springfield (Mo.).
Emporia will play Bartlesville in a game later tonight.
