Robert L. Gensman, 39, is being held in the Lyon County Jail after an alleged rape reported early Saturday morning.
Deputy Danny Broyles of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that at 6:19 a.m. Saturday, Lyon County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a sexual assault in progress in the 1000 block of South 100 Road.
Officers from the Council Grove Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s also responded, and Council Grove police arrested Gensman.
Lyon County deputies talked with everyone at the scene, and Gensman was taken to the Lyon County Jail, Broyles said.
The case has been turned over to the Lyon County Attorney’s office for review. Formal charges are pending.
Broyles said that investigation into the case is continuing.
