Farmers Market
The Farmers Market will begin at 4 p.m. Friday on the west side of the Americus City Park. All vendors are welcome and a sign will be visible on the west side of the park stating “Farmers Market.” In case of inclement weather, the farmers market will be held in the shelter house. No vendors fees are required. This venture is sponsored by the Americus Chamber of Commerce.

Yard sales
The annual city-wide yard sales will be Saturday. The deadline to have an address on the city map is 5 p.m. Thursday. For participants who would like their addresses placed on the list, contact Dana Eckstrom, Anita Westcott, or Sandi Simmons at (620) 443-5503 or stop by the Americus Township Library.
Nominations wanted
The Americus Choice Awards ballots for recognizing the distinguished citizen, youth volunteer, outstanding business, agri-business or agri-person, or the group, association or organization are available and have been published in the Americus newsletter, “Our Home Town.” The results of the awards sponsored by the chamber of commerce will be announced at the chamber’s quarterly dinner on July 15.
