The Emporia AAAs dropped a pair of games to the Topeka Capitals on Tuesday night in Topeka, falling by run-rule in both games, 12-4 and 9-1.
Though the AAAs played solid defense, only committing a combined two errors in the twinbill, Emporia was plagued by an inability to put together hits, coach Aaron Lechien said.
“They (Topeka) just hit the ball where we weren’t and we didn’t hit the ball enough,” Lechien said. “But, that’s the name of the game, I guess.”
