The foursome of Scott Snyder, John Roehler, Tom Ford and Larry Cosby won the “A” flight of the Emporia State golf tournament on Saturday, finishing with an adjusted score of 47.32 to win the $700 first prize.
The team of David Moe, Stan Frownfelter, Larry Ek and Maurice Schmidt took second (47.8), while the team of John Stone, Lloyd Stone, Tony Lake and George Sallas took third (48.36).
Don Hill, John Korsak, Jim Geitz and Russ Gallinger won the “B” flight with an adjusted score of 55.00.

Heights MAYB team takes 3rd
The Northern Heights Small Town Ballers MAYB team took third place in the D bracket during the Newton tournament this past weekend.
The team, made up of Northern Heights freshmen and sophomore students, played games in Marion and Hillsboro. They went 2-2 in pool play, losing Friday games to End Zone Sports, 46-44, and Haysville Full Throttle, 73-44. The team came back on Saturday to beat Wichita Swish 59-36 and Topeka Lions, 45-39.
In bracket play, NHHS opened with a 44-35 win over the Arlington Falcons before falling in the semifinals, 49-48 to Wichita Elite. In the third-place game, NHHS beat Waverly, 51-39.
NHHS team members are Joel Young of Admire; Matt Denton and Nathan Stinson of Allen; Matt Boyce, Nathan Campbell, Alexander Larson, Gail Lee and Teeino Tabares of Americus; and Dylan Olson of Emporia. They are coached by Derek Parks.
