Adkins family
The descendants of Joseph “Joe” and Hattie Swan Adkins and their nine children gathered at the Saffordville Community Building on May 25 to visit, share memory books and compare genealogy research. Visits were also made to the Hillside Cemetery where many of the family are buried.
Those attending from out of state were Hazel Hartman of Delray Beach, Fla.; Patrick Hartman of Oakland Park, Fla.; Bill and Jane Dunmeyer of Carlsbad, Calif.; Ruth Miser and Dawn Enderwood of Edmond, Okla.
From Kansas were Jeff and Chrysy Huff, Annie, Joshua, Ryne and his fiancee, Anna Newman; Mark and Joce Stacer, Morgan and Jeffrey, all of Olathe; Mike Hartman of Merriam; David and Lisa Adkins and Nell, of Leawood; Jim and Dona Jackson of New Strawn; William Adkins of Towanda; Dennis and Terri Adkins of Marion; Jerry and Joan Adkins of Lebo; J. Lloyd and Elaine Adkins and Don and Jene Ayers of Cottonwood Falls; Matt and Angela Hatcher, Uxi and Hadi, of Strong City; and Barbara Adkins, Jana Peak, Ron Shope and Deb Childears, J.B. Dunn family
Descendants of the late Henry and Martha Ellis Dunn family met May 25 for a Memorial Day reunion at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Olpe.
