The Emporia State baseball team had no players drafted during the 50 rounds of the Major League Baseball Draft on Thursday and Friday.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that players like Keith Hernandez and Eric Shortell won’t latch on somewhere.
Last year, ESU outfielder Mark McBratney signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers one week after he was not selected in the draft.
McBratney is hitting .186 in 86 at-bats for the Class A West Michigan Whitecaps this season.
