Lyon County Commission

The Lyon County Commission will meet for a study session at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County Commission chambers of the Lyon County Courthouse. Items up for discussion include:

• 8:30 a.m. — Review Lyon County Extension budget information.

• 9 a.m. — Chip Woods will discuss the following items: bridges on the five-year plan; discuss the quote from GeoTech Inc. for $480 to stake the right of way on Road 115 between Roads L and M to be paid from Road & Bridge fund; discuss draft drawing of the Lyon County Extension Parking lot improvements and give guidance on the extent of paving desired; review road/sign supervisor’s weekly report; review recycle trailer talley for May; review memo to Lyon County employees regarding the revised policy on mowing county roads.

• 9:45 a.m. — Sam Seeley, of Lyon County Zoning, will review two applications requesting a change from agriculture to agriculture special use.

• 10 a.m. — Mark McKenna & Chris Wilkinson, facilities management, will discuss Extension building activities.

Olpe city

The Olpe City Council meets at 7p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. The agenda includes approval of agenda, minutes, expenditures; out of town guests; comments from the public; Fire District 1 fire chief report; Legal — crossroads wireless holding, LLC update —nuisance properties; 2008 street repairs, sidewalk bid opening; audit questionnaire, budget (sewer loan and interest, sewer utility, water utility, water maintenance reserve; employee reports — maintenance supervisor, city clerk; mayor’s comments; adjourn.

Meeting canceled

The special board meeting of the Madison-Virgil school board, set for Thursday, is canceled. The opening of bids for the new gymnasium will be done later.
